Position Summary:
The Host is the direct representation of the service and overall hospitality of the restaurant. It is the job of the host position to ensure that the guests are made comfortable and kept informed of the status of their orders or wait times. As guests arrive, the host assesses the dining room and, if a table is available, escorts the guests to the dining room.
Essential Job Functions:
· Welcome all guests and fellow associates with a warm, sincere, prompt greeting.
· Arrive for work on time, properly dressed and groomed; ready to represent the property with the utmost in professionalism.
· Conduct daily tasks based on side work lists.
· Attend all training and department meetings as directed by management.
· Maintain an organized and clean work area.
· Communicate with serving staff to ensure all guest needs are met.
· Report all equipment failures or maintenance issues to manager.
· Maintain a thorough understanding of restaurant offerings and act as an ambassador for the restaurant with each guest.
· Alert management to potential problems or concerns as they relate to guests or staff.
· Promote positive guest relations by providing prompt, courteous and efficient service and effectively resolving complaints in a timely manner.
· Project a calm demeanor at all times.
· Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information.
Positions Requirements:
Previous experience is not required to become a host but may require the host to have the ability to read and write fluently in English, to take and follow instructions in both verbal and written forms and to have the basic assessment and math skills to estimate wait times for guests.

Monthly- Participating in Meetings
Teamwork and Collaboration: This job is part of a formal work team within the department.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Stress Load: Regular exposure to stresses.
Workload Fluctuation: The workload required to perform this job requires ability to adapt to change.
Manual Skills: Must have some computer skills.
Physical Effort: must be able to lift 40lbs regularly
Physical Environment: Mostly indoor, restaurant environment.
Work Schedule: Must be available a minimum of 2 days per week
Occupational Risks: There are inherent risks associated with the restaurant setting and may be required to take a safety training seminar.
Ergonomics Risks: The host position has ergonomic risks that must understood i.e., Typing, lifting, carrying trays, etc.
Safety: Responsible for adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
Performance Standards:
· Protect the assets of the property.
· Maintain professional appearance and behavior when in contact with customers and fellow employees.
· Follow policies and procedures in training manuals and the employee handbook.
· Always remember our partnership with our clients, fellow employees, and investors to provide quality service and maintain profitability.
· Establish self-improvement goals by staying current with necessary training requirements for this position.
· Regular attendance and conformance with property standards is essential to the successful performance of this position.
