Duties & Responsibilities: • Accurately identifies specimens, slides and blocks per policy. • Ensures accurate order entry of surgical and cytology cases in Laboratory Information System and clarifies confusing or incomplete orders. • Processes GYN Thin Prep & Non GYN specimens accurately and efficiently. • Operates instrumentation per policy, and performs minor maintenance tasks. • Accurately files slides and blocks and ensures the room is neat and organized. • Demonstrates proficient use of the Laboratory Information System • Assists in inventory management of reagents and supplies, including documenting, receiving, and storing supplies as directed, and promptly notifying supervisor of low inventory. • Ensures the department is clean and restocked with necessary reagents and supplies. • Participates in training of new staff members. • Maintains an organized work environment to enable another to take over job duties.
