An amazing hospital about an hour south from Salinas, California is looking for a Full-Time Permanent HIM Manager to join their team!

Shifts: Day, 8-hour shifts/ 5 days a week

Pay Range: $41.67/hour-$55.11/hour DOE

HIM Manager Responsibilities:

• Manages and oversees the management of the legal medical record, release of information, and birth registry
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable internal and external legal regulatory, and accreditation, requirements for medical records
• Provides daily oversight and management to facility and clinics HIM / medical records staff that complete record management activities (processing, prepping, scanning, and indexing) birth registry, and release of information functions
• Assists healthcare providers with access and use of the electronic legal medical record
• Oversees Clinic Medical Record Supervisor to ensure compliance with internal and external medical record requirements, adequate staffing, and equitable scheduling and timely completion of duties
• Serves as the HIPAA Privacy Officer

HIM Manager Requirements:

• Degree in Health Information or health related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years HIM experience, and minimum of 1 year in Supervising a HIM Department
• Must have excellent observation skills, analytical thinking, problem solving, plus excellent verbal and written communication
• Must be able to work independently as well as work cooperatively with coworkers, peers, and other staff professionals
• Certified by the American Health Information Management Association as either: RHIT – Registered Health Information Technician or RHIA – Registered Health Information Administrator
