Our Ontario Holt Dialysis Center is seeking for a Full Time Certified Hemodialysis Technician to join the team.
- Monday, Wednesday, & Friday : OPENER : 3:00 AM -4:00PM
- $19+ Depending on years of experience
JOB DESCRIPTION OF CERTIFIED PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN
I. Function:
The Certified Dialysis Technician performs patient care and related duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing.
II. Qualifications:
a. High School graduate or equivalent.
b. Prior patient care or medical related experience preferred.
c. Current certification as a Patient Care Technician by the State of CA.
d. Maintains CPR certificate.
III. Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Perform at all times under the supervision of an R.N. or M. D and within limitations established by law, regulation, or usual practice within the state.
b. Prepare the dialyzer and delivery system for use as prescribed; monitor all equipment in use for correct functioning; and perform appropriate terminal cleaning following each treatment.
c. Assess assigned patients before and after each treatment. Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis treatment. Consult with the R. N. on all aspects of patient care and execute the plan of nursing care for each patient as directed. Notify the R. N. regarding changes in the patient's condition. Document all patient care provided and contribute to team patient care planning and follow-up to achieve goals.
d. Administer Xylocaine, Heparin, and Normal Saline under the supervision of an R.N. or M.D. and within limitations established by law, regulation, or usual practice within the state.
e. Conform to the established policies and procedures of the facility.
f. Perform patient care or other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing.
g. Clean and sterilize dialyzers for reuse.
h. Draws blood work that is ordered when necessary from arterial or venous bloodline.
i. Maintains a clean, comfortable, safe environment for the patient.
j. Performs clotting times, mid treatments or PRN. Report findings to R. N.
k. Acknowledges patient request and patient feelings, shows respect for the patient and family.
l. Performs all other tasks as needed, e. g. stock shelves, drawers, cleans up work area assigned.
m. Participates and attends staff meetings, in-service educational programs within the facility and attends outside seminars.
