Blythe Development, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, is a licensed general contractor specializing in site work, road construction and golf course construction in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia since 1989. Blythe Development's operations include clearing, grading, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, waterline, curb and gutter, sidewalk, concrete paving, retaining walls, culverts, bridges, stone base and asphalt paving. Blythe Brothers Asphalt Company provides the asphalt services for Blythe Development Co. Our large, experienced workforce enables Blythe Development to self-perform 80% of site groundwork, which gives them greater control than competitors who must subcontract the bulk of the job. Both Blythe Development and Blythe Brothers Asphalt are owned and operated by the Blythe brothers who collectively have over 80 years’ experience in site work construction.

Heavy Equipment Operator

Including: front-end loader, track hoe, dozer, GPS dozer, roller, off-road truck, skidsteer, mini-excavator and excevator.

• Ability to operate equipment in a safe and productive manner
• Maintains, cleans, and secures all equipment as directed by policies and procedures
• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed and brings any problems to the attention of a supervisor
• Willingness to also perform general labor duties as needed

Requirements

• Ability to enter and exit heavy machinery while maintaining three points of contact, awareness of surroundings, and multi-limb coordination
• Regularly works near moving machinery/tools which requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination, must be able to move quickly and have excellent stamina.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects (over 50 lbs.), use legs, hips, shoulders, abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and climb a ladder
