Introduction:
IBM Cloud is searching for an experienced and motivated regulatory management leader to join the Public Cloud Controls, Risk and Compliance team.
Remaining resilient against regulatory change is critical. Regulators are continuously adapting to advances in data and technology and regulations continue to evolve, staying ahead of this change is critical to the success of IB Cloud and our clients.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
In this role you will be accountable for performing ongoing regulatory watch; analyzing regulatory changes and impact to our controls framework, services, and operations; mapping and aligning requirements to the controls framework and overarching policies; and sharing how applicable regulations are supported by our controls framework, operations and practices through regulatory guides and whitepapers.
Candidates should be experienced in leadership, regulatory management tools, practices, processes, and be highly analytical and motivated to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. Experience in regulations/regulated industries will be critical to the success of the role. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are required to convey complex regulatory concepts, considerations, and requirements across the IBM Cloud organization.
In this role you will be tasked with challenging situations every day and will be required to coordinate and manage high profile processes and projects across multiple teams.
You will:
- Define the overall Regulatory Compliance Management System requirements and target operating model for IBM Cloud
- Design, build, and operationalize Regulatory Compliance Management System capabilities
- Define and implement in-scope policies and controls that that require regulatory alignment
- Scope and execute regulatory controls monitoring and governance of identified issues
- Manage the potential for violating public cloud and industry-related laws and regulations
- Act as the competency center for regulations impacting the IBM Cloud business
- Act as a consultant to interpret current and emerging laws and regulations
- Support compliance with processes to identify, evaluate, and implement changes to priorities and roadmaps based on regulatory requirements
- Oversee the management of risks resulting from regulatory change or known non-compliance
- Liaise with external (IBM and non-IBM) sources to identify relevant regulatory trends, updates, and potential impact to Cloud stakeholders

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
As minimum you have the following:
Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
5+ years’ experience in a risk or regulatory management role and/or relevant industry certifications
Good knowledge of global regulators, regulatory requirements and applicable frameworks (NIST series, ISO 27000 series, COBIT, COSO, etc.)
High level of personal integrity, the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and exhibit the appropriate level of judgment and decision making commensurate with the position and responsibilities
High degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work as an empowered leader
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5+ years in a Banking or highly regulated environment performing a risk or regulatory management leadership role
- Deep experience in delivering risk or regulatory oversight
- Industry risk or regulatory management certifications
- Technical and/or Architectural knowledge of Cloud environment tooling, architecture, operating principles, and security/compliance methods

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
