We are offering an exciting opportunity as G4 O&M Technical Support Engineer to be an important part in paving the way for Vattenfall and its customers and partners towards a fossil free future!
As G4 O&M Technical Support Engineer you will become the “spider in the web”, the central point of all technical requests related to our wind turbine offshore fleet. More specific platforms covered under Technical Support: SGRE D3, SGRE G4, SGRE D8, SGRE D11, Vestas V164 and/or Nordex Delta).

The Wind Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team is highly qualified experts with technical know-how. Our strategy assumes taking full control over the O&M process for these platforms, which requires a strong internal organization and central support. The approach should ultimately lead to minimize O&M downtime for the particular platforms without compromising the life time of the asset. The O&M Strategy has recently been adopted and is part of a larger improvement program within Vattenfall.
What will you do?
You will be part of a dedicated team of Technical Support Engineers and provide direct support to full control sites on technical queries related to WTG knowing all the ins and outs of the SGRE G4 platform both on an electrical and mechanical as well as technicians level.
- Receiving via a ticketing system or Hotline call, and effectively evaluating technical requests (issues (incl. troubleshooting ones) or opportunities) to ensure accurate assessment and best resolution, for each situation
- Identifying from those individual requests the ones that could be a potential platform issue and investigating together with the different sites current status
- Coordinating regular meetings with site and asset management in order to prioritize those technical requests in relation to all open items on the whole Vattenfall fleet to ensure immediate actions are taken, distributing those requests to other departments if required
- Leading and coordinate technical requests with the OEM according to the Post DNP support agreement; supporting the commercial manager where required on technical claims
- Working on standardising solutions on a library so knowledge is captured in a structured way
- Preparing, reviewing and updating on Standard Work Packages (alarm codes, documentation incl. checklists, spare parts, tools, etc.) ready to be used by the site planner
- Providing constantly feedback to the Employer Requirements for future projects based on lessons learnt
- Creating, controlling, improving and maintaining reset alarm guides to be used by our surveillance colleagues
- Creating, controlling and maintaining technical support documentation requirements for the O&M lifetime of the asset
- Being part of internal expert operational groups for the different platforms where technical knowledge is shared and captured
Location
The work location can be London in UK, Amsterdam in the Netherlands or Kolding or Esbjerg in Denmark. This role is mainly executed behind your desk. When required you will visit the windfarm sites you are supporting to be more efficient when needed.

As our new G4 O&M Technical Support Engineer you have the ability to extract core content from complex and diverse information and present it in a simple way. Furthermore, you have:
- A technical background with a qualification in electrical and/or mechanical discipline or qualified by experience (minimum of 4 - 5 years)
- Previous experience in troubleshooting background - preferred
- Knowledge of G4 or more technical turbine platform(s) SGRE D3, SGRE D8, SGRE D11, Vestas V164 and/or Nordex Delta - preferred
- Work experience in the wind industry, including technical knowledge of wind farms (especially offshore) - desirable but not essential
- Experience in using standard office software and standard portal-based systems; SAP Plant Maintenance is a plus
- Proactive attitude to see and pick-up new challenges along the way; while doing this you are aware that it is a team effort and keep everyone involved, share the knowledge and information you have
- High energy level, a responsible and structured way of working and deliver with high quality and seek for improvements
- Practical approach, organizational skills, you are hands-on, target focused, open minded and eager to learn new things
- Good networking skills and you can extract core content from complex and diverse information and present it in a simple way
- Capability of working independently and as a team member in a cohesive and participative manner; reaching out to others on time, escalating when required
- Ability to manage high pressure situations and to make effective use of time to ensure completion of tasks
- Excellent communication skills in English both spoken and written
- Together with strong communication skills confidence in dealing with numerous stakeholders
- Ability to work in an intercultural, dynamic, international and multidisciplinary environment
- A flexible attitude with regards to tasks, hours and travelling as/when necessary
- Physically good condition to pass a compulsory medical exam and are not afraid of heights to visit the turbines (GWO training)
