Who we are:

Good Common Sense Naturals originally started as an Etsy shop and has now turned into a vibrant downtown Pleasanton business that is now opening a second location in Danville! We are a locally owned, all natural, handcrafted bath, body and home company that makes, packages, and labels every product in store! We have a great team with a fun dynamic that believes when you put good in, you get good out! That’s why our products are made with all natural, ethically sourced, fair trade ingredients and are essential oil based. That means we don’t use ANY synthetic ingredients, parabens, fragrances, or preservatives. We like to have a lot of fun in the shop, from product ideas to their cheeky names and we are looking for an enthusiastic new addition to our team who has a passion for the environment and all natural living.

The opportunity:

Your main goal is to provide a fun, exciting and enthusiastic energy to our small business and create a comfortable and helpful environment for all customers! Our customers are the most important part of this business, and as we are going to be the new kids on the block in downtown Danville, we are looking for an eager sales associate with a helpful nature to join our team and put their best foot forward to represent our business values and help us grow in the community.

The job of a Sales Associate first and foremost involves greeting clients as they walk in the store while explaining the uniqueness of our business and providing a positive and personalized experience for each customer. You will also aide in daily tasks such as restocking, merchandising, record keeping, and frequently assisting in the production of our products. In this role, you will be the face of Good Common Sense Naturals. We strive to provide fresh and authentic customer service and each team member is responsible for greeting and guiding the customers through the store, providing in store samples, as well as maintaining the appearance of the store and the merchandise. You would need to be able to open / close the store, handle cash, manage keys, etc. We are looking for team members that are friendly, energetic, creative, passionate, and willing to learn our product line quickly and able to intuitively pair products with customers. We are also looking for candidates who are eager to learn more about the natural world of skincare and herbs, and is willing to commit and grow with a small business.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Consistently execute our selling model in a fun, team environment
• Build a highly satisfied and loyal customer base through engagement, uncovering needs, making product recommendations, sales conversion and capturing customer phone numbers/email addresses
• Support product replenishment activities that keep the store fully stocked
• Assist with minor product packaging and inventory needs
• Assist with the image and upkeep of the sales floor, window changes, visual presentation and marketing placement as needed
• Abide by our values, policies, procedures and safety procedures
• Stay vigilent with written and verbal communication with your sales team
• Multi task with multiple responsibilities delegated to sales staff

• Has experience with a register
• Is open to feedback and the ability to act on it
• Is organized
• Is very flexible
• Has a grasp of common sense
• Is comfortable with 1 on 1 customer handling and interaction
• Is able to efficiently multi task

Qualifications:

• Sales Experience/ Customer Handling (1 yr required)
• Professional Retail Experience (1 yr preferred)
• Retail Lead/Manager experience (Nice to have, not a requirement. 1 yr preferred)
• High School or equivalent
• Basis Computer Knowledge (brownie points for software knowledge and experience with Adobe Illustrator, Google Suite, Square POS)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
