WANTED-Full-time pastor for Loree Brethren Church near Bunker Hill. Indiana.

We have just celebrated 140 years as a congregation. Visit our website at Loreechurch.com,

which also connects to our Facebook page. We are looking for a pastor who preaches from the Bible,

will be an active member of our activities, and will lead us into our future. The position could be

available this summer, but definitely by Oct. 15, the date of our Pastor’s retirement.

Although we are in a rural setting, we are surrounded by many prospects for a larger weekly

congregation. Our congregation is more mature but trying to encourage more young families. Our

facilities include the main church, a separate fellowship hall, and a brick three-bedroom parsonage with

an attached garage. We are ¼ mile from the Maconaquah schools, with the high school, junior high,

and grade school buildings on site. This school is an excellent school system with approximately 900

high school students. Surrounding towns include Kokomo, Peru, Logansport, and Wabash. We are also

very close to Grissom Air Base, which has a large housing area, an airplane museum, and a new

helicopter museum which is almost complete.

Our church serves as the base for packing bags of food for underprivileged students who depend

on school lunches during the week but still need meals over the weekends. Once a month, we offer a

noodle supper which features beef or chicken and noodles in a complete meal. We offer eat-in or carry-

out. We often serve 500 to 600 meals that evening. It is free-will offering and proceeds are donated to

several food banks in Miami county on a rotating basis.

The Fellowship Hall is offered to others for church events, birthday celebrations, wedding

receptions, Christmas gatherings, meetings, etc. We collaborated with six other churches in the area for

a revival last fall which was held in our building. We continue working together on other projects to

try not only to encourage the churched but reach the unchurched in the area.

We are close to Mississinewa Reservoir, which has camping, boating, hiking, and a 500-space

camping area. There is also a walking or biking trail adjoining our property. Peru used to be the winter

quarters for several big-name circuses and they still have a group for kids 18 and under who learn to be

circus stars and perform in the summer for Circus Days. They also block off several streets at that time

for carnival rides, treats, and games.

The pastor we choose will need to join us in our deep desire to serve our community.

Compensation will include a cash wage, use of the parsonage, utilities, internet, gas mileage, etc.
