Perimeter Behavioral of Arlington has a great opportunity for Full-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), to include rotating weekends. The LVN's responsibilities include the following:

• Accurately collect data.
• Take and record vital signs properly.
• Observe for, and document changes in patient’s appearance, behavior, and ability to work toward treatment plan goals.
• Communicate changes in patient’s condition to the RN.
• Report signs and symptoms of infections to the RN.
• Document patient information and nursing care in the provision of nursing services.
• Utilizes accurate and thorough documentation using appropriate terminology and approved abbreviations.
• Document and reassess any significant changes in the patient’s condition in compliance with hospital policy.
• Employ principles of communication, interviewing techniques, problem solving and crisis intervention when performing psychotherapeutic interventions.
• Provides appropriate intervention related to patient’s concerns.
• Accurately administer medication to patients.
• Identifies patients at risk and implements procedures to monitor and reduce at risk factors.
• Maintains a therapeutic relationship and observes appropriate staff/ patient boundaries.
• Provide structure and maintain a therapeutic environment with patients and other health care providers.
• Consistently utilize standard precautions and environmental safety guidelines.
• Comply with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations, and risk management.
• Act as the patient’s advocate and assure that patient rights are upheld.
• Adhere to facility, department, corporate and standard policies, and procedures.
• Support hospital-wide performance improvement goals and objectives.
• Support hospital’s mission, vision, and values.
• Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.

Qualified candidates for LVN should have the following:

• Graduate of an accredited professional vocational school of nursing required.
• Licensure and registration by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
• At least one (1) year of clinical experience in a hospital setting with psychiatric experience preferred.
• Current CPR.
• Successful completion of training in CPI within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.

Shifts available:

• 7AM - 7PM (day shift)
• 7PM - 7AM (night shift)
• Rotating weekends required
