Job Overview:

The Cloud Data Engineer position will be a key contributor on the Apigee Hybrid Integration team where you’ll work as an SME for Integrating Apigee Run-Time with Apigee GCP Management plane. A good understanding of Container Orchestration technology (Kubernetes, OpenShift,), DevOps methodologies, automation and config management tools (Ansible, Chef) and the software development lifecycle and CI/CD pipeline workflow is desired.

Responsibilites:

• Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Principles and Java, as well as broad cross-functional knowledge including relational and NoSQL database, software security, system administration, and enterprise messaging patterns.
• Experience with API development using Apigee platform (Cloud, Hybrid or OPDK) including API Governance
• Practical knowledge of Microservices and designing/building REST APIs.
• Experience with industry standard tools: Spring Boot, Spring Framework, JUnit, Python, Gradle and Maven.
• Experience with Kubernetes containerization, PaaS, cloud containerization such as EKS, GKE etc.
• Experience with server-side technologies such as Nginx, Apache, Tomcat
• Experience in Agile Development using Pipeline tools such as JFrog, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Harness or RLM etc.
• Understanding of project management methodologies, system development lifecycle, infrastructure best practices and risk management concepts.
• Experience with JSON, flat file & XML data structures.
• Experience handling structured and unstructured datasets
• Experience with UI using REACTJS, AngularJS etc.
• Experience with Apigee Hybrid product integrating with GCP. Run-Time managmenet in AWS.
• Experience with certificates management.
• Experience working in a distributed, cloud-based environment using Azure/AWS/GCP
• Experience in combination of technologies - Helm, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools like Bamboo/Github/Gitlab/Jenkins, Terraform, Hashicorp Vault, experience in CD tools like Spinnaker, Harness, Openshift is a plus
• Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities, and related reporting to identify best practices
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and frameworks
• Familiarity with devops and SRE practices
• Experience in modern microservices architectures and deployments

Qualifications:

• Strong data visualization skills, capable of producing analytics that tells story from data through charts, graphs, etc.
• Good Understanding of SRE/DevOps practices and running workloads on Cloud platforms.
• Exposure to standard software development practices including agile, deployment pipelines, continuous integrations and continuous delivery
• Experience working accessing and manipulating data within service-oriented architectures and APIs
• Knowledge of container orchestration ie OpenShift/Kubernetes
