  • $.50/hr an increase may be available after 90 days

**$1/hr. An increase may be available after 6 months and annual increases thereafter.

***We also offer a pay differential for the evening, weekend, and overnight shifts.

Remote Training and Work:

These positions may be considered for remote work. Candidates selected for these positions will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home in a designated work area. In addition, applicants must prove that such space is HIPPA compliant and has adequate Wi-Fi speed. Applicants must live in one of our applicable states: Colorado, Kansas, North Carolina, Arizona, Texas, Florida, and Wyoming, and have a HIPPA compliant workspace and reliable internet. This includes:

  • Broadband internet with at least 40mb/s download speeds on your internet (i.e., password protected, not shared outside your household internet line; no satellite internet). You must also can hardline into the router if the Wi-Fi connection is unstable.
  • This work arrangement will require you to provide a work environment free from all disruptions and distractions. This includes a private area that prevents access to others during working hours and prevents disruptions such as overly noisy pets or others within your home. Working remotely is not a substitute for child/dependent or adult/elder care.

PRIMARY PURPOSES OF THE JOB

Follow Up Specialists complete outbound follow-up calls for RMCP crisis lines, a suicide prevention hotline in Colorado, RMCP program-specific lines (i.e. Hospital Follow Up), and RMCP LiveConnect customers. Follow Up Specialists rapidly evaluate complex behavioral health situations then develop, recommend, and support clinically appropriate telephonic crisis interventions to be implemented with individual clients, their families, and a wide variety of community helpers, including law enforcement and EMS personnel. Follow Up Specialists are expected to serve as a Crisis Specialist when business needs dictate.

Crisis Specialists answer inbound calls and electronic messaging for RMCP crisis lines, a suicide prevention hotline in Colorado, RMCP program-specific lines, and RMCP LiveConnect customers. Crisis Specialists rapidly evaluate complex behavioral health situations then develop, recommend, and support appropriate telephonic crisis interventions to be implemented with individual clients, their families, and a wide variety of community helpers, including law enforcement and EMS personnel.

Essential Functions
:

Crisis Specialist

  • Receive incoming calls and electronic messages from clients, families, law enforcement, and other community helpers.
  • Assess situations and behaviors as presented.
  • When required, provide suicide and homicide risk assessments telephonically.
  • When required, counsel, negotiate, mediate, and intervene with clients to defuse crisis intensity and prevent self-harm or harm to others.
  • Determine and recommend appropriate interventions and deliver crisis interventions.
  • Provide information and referrals to available community programs, as may be indicated.
  • Initiate follow-up communication to check on client welfare and encourage service linkage.
  • Maintain accurate and current crisis contact documentation; maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and evaluation.
  • Support the recovery and strengths of our callers, their families, community helpers, and other RMCP staff members.
  • Support a positive and effective working environment, representing the organization in a positive way internally and externally.
  • Participate in individual/group supervisions and complete internal trainings.

Follow Up Specialist

  • Provide appropriate follow-up calls and telephonic case management to callers identifying with behavioral health concerns, as determined by follow up program protocol.
  • Initiate follow-up communication to check on client welfare, encourage service linkage and continue to express messages of care and concern.
  • Assess situations and behaviors as presented.
  • Receive incoming calls and electronic messages (Follow Up) from clients, families, law enforcement, and other community helpers, in a backup function in the call center.
  • Provide caring contact, short-term goal planning, motivational interviewing techniques to improve post-crisis functioning.
  • When required, provide suicide and homicide risk assessments telephonically.
  • When required, counsel, negotiate, support, mediate, and intervene with callers/texters to defuse crisis intensity and prevent self-harm or harm to others.
  • Determine and recommend appropriate interventions and deliver crisis interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and current clinical records; maintain their security.
  • Maintain systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and evaluation.
  • Support the recovery and strengths of our clients, their families, community helpers, and other RMCP staff members.
  • Support a positive and effective working environment, representing the organization in a positive way internally and externally.
  • Participate in individual/group supervisions and attend internal training.

LEVEL OF ACCOUNTABILITY, DECISION-MAKING, AND JUDGMENT

All Follow-up Specialists are required to exercise some degree of independent judgment within the bounds of professional ethics, organizational policies and procedures, and community standards of care. Follow-up Specialists are accountable to the Follow-up management and leadership staff at RMCP. It is critical that employees demonstrate a strong ability to quickly learn operational and clinical protocols, be proactive in maintaining such knowledge, and perform in a highly independent manner in performing tasks that are required of them.
