We are currently hiring a Fire Extinguisher Shop Technician at our Amarillo TX, location.

The purpose of the Fire Extinguisher Shop Technician position is to receive materials, store materials, pick items and move as well as transport items outside of the warehouse.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform hydrostatic test or 6-year internal inspections on fire extinguishers.

Recharging and testing of fire extinguishers

DOT high pressure testing

Assist with walk- in customers fire extinguisher.

Occasionally deliver fire extinguishers and cabinets to customers.

Help keep shop and extinguisher holding areas clean.

Frequently moves fire extinguishers, fire sprinkler pipes and other mechanical devised.

Identifies and inspects received inventory.

Verify labels.

Driving company vehicles, as assigned.

Possess a valid Driver’s License.

Must have communications skills to converse with clients and accurately exchange information.

Transportation of items in and out of trucks.

Communication with clients.

Cleaning of workstation and surrounding areas in warehouse/ shop.

Assist with Inventory audits.

Transport items via Truck travel time and location may vary, upon request.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand, walk for full shift.

Minimal lifting and pushing up to 50 lbs.

Continual use of a computer and computer screen.

Regular bending, lifting, and twisting.

Up to 10% travel.

Working Conditions

Most regular work will be in a shop setting with various temperatures and safety requirements.

Office settings are mild to moderate temperatures.

Personnel will be assigned a workspace and proper equipment.

Travel conditions will vary.

Non-Essential Functions

Must be able to effectively communicate via phone, email, and other non-personal manners.

Navigate the internet and maintain internal database.
