As a Fire Technician at TRL, you will help install fire alarm devices, run wire, and performing basic construction duties including demolition, construction rough ins, project prep and clean up.
Essential Functions:
- Install fire alarm devices such as pull stations, smoke detectors, strobes, and horns.
- Pull different types of cable through job sites.
- Work with the Lead/Foreman of the project to make sure devices are installed correctly.
- Understands how to read and interpret blueprints/drawings for project installation.
- Monitors and updates tickets/tasks/activities assigned to them in company CRM.
- Performs good housekeeping while on a project site; keeping work area clean and organized.
- Operates and understands the use of all tools and equipment needed for the project.
- Adheres to all workplace safety expectations, regulations, standards and practices.
- Displays an understanding of and the functionality of the Fire Life Safety systems installed.
- 0-2 years in construction and/or low voltage installation
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Valid California Driver License, and proof of auto insurance.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day, daily.
- Ability to drive, walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations.
- Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, high rise buildings, and/or hospitals with patient contact.
- Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally
- Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 50+ pounds, daily
- Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily
- Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally
