  • Schedule: Mon-Fri | 2PM-7PM; with occasional Saturdays
  • Pay: $17 hourly
  • Status: Part-time

The Peer Support Specialist Role and How You WILL Make a Difference

A Peer Support Specialist is an individual who uses their lived experience in recovery from mental illness and/or substance use disorder, in addition to skills learned in formal training, to deliver services promoting recovery and resiliency. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a safe and hazard-free environment by observing and documenting client behavior, reporting unsafe conditions, and providing appropriate emotional and physical support
  • Assist with providing a therapeutic milieu for clients by encouraging clients to participate in recreational activities and group therapies
  • Provide supportive treatment to clients by leading activity/conversation groups
  • Assist in the development of client behavioral expectations and with the unit's training and quality assurance programs
  • Help with contributing to client treatment, teaching, and discharge planning

Who We’d Love to Join Our Team

Required Qualifications include:

  • *Active Peer Support Specialist Certification in the state of Utah*
  • Valid Utah Driver's License
  • High school diploma or GED
