Essential Duties
The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.
- Provides coordination, guidance, support, and direct management for Child Protective Services Intake, After hours, Child Protective Services Investigative and Family Assessments, In-Home Services
- Reviews, interprets, and implements new statutes, state policies and procedures, as well as designing and implementing county/local/agency policy and procedures to guide daily practice.
- Provides consultation, guidance, and direction to Supervisors (including monthly individual conferences and support of all after- hours functions). Provides and/or arranges for coverage during absences or vacancies of Supervisors. Works collaboratively with partner Coordinator for both coverage and cross-training to supervisors and staff.
- Compiles information and statistical data, designs presentations, and completes reports monthly and yearly. Makes presentations of such reports to the DSS Board and other community partners. Serves on local, regional, and state committees, as applicable.
- Participates in and coordinates the local response to the Child and Family Services Review and other reviews as such as county/state/federal audits, fatality reviews, IV-E reviews, etc.
- Participates in hiring, permanency recommendations, disciplinary actions, development and monitoring of corrective action plans, and completion of employee evaluations for both supervisory and front-line level staff.
- Continually assesses budgetary needs and makes recommendations to Administrator, based on requests coming from casework and the expressed needs of the staff. Completes invoices and billing documentation to be submitted to accounting for payment/reimbursement.
- Serves as a community liaison. Received and responds to concerns and requests coming from clientele services and community partners and stakeholders (including to resolve specific complaints on specific cases working in conjunction with the workers and supervisors.
- Works collaboratively with the agency's trainer, to develop, plan and deliver in-service training needed by staff, completes bi-weekly timesheets for approval to payroll and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
4 years of college ( MSW preferred, BSW, or 4 yr degree in a related field
required). Experience should include a mininum of 5 years of experience in the
provision and administration of children & family services (supervisory exp
preferred). An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Valid driver's license
A COPY OF COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE INCLUDED WITH APPLICATION.. The applicant selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
Special knowledge, abilities, skills, physical requirements, and other factors: Knowledge of NC Juvenile Statutes, including court room testimony, court report or applicable paperwork preparation, knowledge of NCDHHS- Div of SS Policy Manual Materials, knowledge of Gaston County Personnel Policy and Procedures Manual, and knowledge of locally developed policies.

Pay: $60,486.00 - $96,778.00 per year
