Overall Assignment Description:
The Contractor shall provide senior-level Architecture expertise throughout the life cycle of the N2W program, a mega Military Construction (MILCON) project (planning, programming, design, construction, transition to operations, deployment and operations & maintenance).
Duties
- Support meetings, recurring reporting requirements (e.g. Weekly Activity Reports) and forums as needed.
- Perform architectural technical reviews for facility programming, designs, constructability, commissioning, and value engineering to ensure compliance with NGA’s architectural requirements and are within prescribed budget.
- Participate in focus groups and special topic forums in support of facility programming studies.
- Provide architectural services that will assist the government in liaising with US Army Corps of Engineers.
- Assist in monitoring of progress and facilitate progress and completion of tasks related to architecture.
- Coordinate all work with the N2W engineering staff to ensure the best solution for the Government is achieved.
- Support the following Sustainability Engineer activities:
- Ensure N2W’s design incorporates appropriate capabilities and technologies to enable compliance with all Federal regulations regarding energy conservation and environmental protection.
- Research and present opportunities with organizations such as the Department of Energy and programs like the Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) to receive funding related to energy management.
- Develop a sustainability education strategy to educate the N2W PMO and NGA Workforce about sustainable engineering and help encourage a workforce culture that desires to be energy conscience.
- Verify issues related to architectural elements, drawing coordination and recommend solutions.
- Ensure plan complies with federal regulations as referenced in Appendix C.
Skills and Experience:
Required
- Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to complete CI poly
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 11+ years of experience
- Current Architectural license required (can be issued from any U.S. state).
- Must have demonstrated experience (12 years minimum) in the areas of Architecture related to federal planning, programming, design and construction.
- Must also have demonstrated experience in inspecting quality and adherence to specifications of both construction documents (plans, specifications and design analysis) and work in place on large (over $50M) federal construction projects.
- Must also have demonstrated experience with building sustainability, Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED), and its application.
- Must have demonstrated experience with the latest trends and state-of-the-art technologies in facility design, construction, renovations, space management, construction delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Early Contractor Involvement, etc.) and knowledge management to ensure that major capital development projects meet the owner’s current and future requirements.
