We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Billing/Coding and Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our 6 physician Nephrology practice in North Miami. Position is full time or part time. Salary commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits package. Candidates’ duties will include: * handling insurance follow-up, corrections, and appeals * Facilitation of insurance billing and collection. * Following patient accounts through the billing process to the payor. * Working with the payor through claims processing. * Ensuring reimbursement to the practice * Reviewing EOBs and reconciling claims. * Review of insurance denials and rejections to determine next appropriate action steps and obtain necessary information to resolve any outstanding denials/rejections. * Verification of patient demographic information and insurance eligibility including coordination of benefits; update and confirm as necessary to allow processing of claims to insurance plans. * Determining the status of claims with the insurance company and if the claim meets contractual agreements or needs adjustment * Obtain medical records and collect needed documents from insurance companies * Reconcile account balances, and verify monies are applied correctly * Obtain account information through insurance companies and customer contacts. * Process refund requests and billing calls and questions from patients and third-party carriers. * Contact patient regarding outstanding balances and arrange payment plans * Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses and procedures as needed. Requirements: * Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding * Familiarity with systems and medical billing software (EPIC EHR proficiency a plus) * Strong knowledge of medical terminology * Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding systems * Ability to work independently and as part of a team and excellent interpersonal skills.
