The Equipment Operator is a great job for people who like to work outdoors, perform a variety of different tasks and assignments, acquire new skills and knowledge, and operate four wheelers, tractors, and track mobiles. Duties involve general field maintenance or clean-up work.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Writes work requests, prepares maintenance work orders and gives work clearances
Conducts lock out/tag out procedures
Prepares and maintains logs, flow diagrams and other records
Performs periodic inspection of emergency and other plant equipment as required
Trains and assists customers and vendors on loading and unloading product
Assists technicians, field/plant operators and mechanics in day-to-day responsibilities and tasks
Completes janitorial activities such as cleaning, dusting, washing windows, moving and polishing furniture and equipment
Handles general maintenance and housekeeping tasks
Performs miscellaneous manual labor activities such as sweeping and cleaning floors and work areas, picking up papers and refuse from grounds, heavy lifting and moving materials, making minor repairs, mowing lawns and shoveling snow
Assists with minor repairs to generators, engines, compressors, cranes and other equipment
Helps to test and maintain area safety shutdown equipment to ensure compliance with company and government regulations
Practices awareness concerning issues of health, safety and the environment
May cooperate with emergency teams to anticipate and deal with any hazardous and/or unusual situations including sour gas environment, high-pressure wells, oil spills and line leaks, inclement weather, acts of vandalism, etc.
May occasionally joins technical groups and field personnel on teams to promote production efficiency and safety
Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
6 months of experience in the oil and gas industry
Ability to pass Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) training
Valid Driver’s License
Must live/relocate within 1 hour of reporting location
Willing and able to perform/comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays; be available for callout
Climb various stairs and ladders, including fixed and A-frame
Frequently lift and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds
Push/pull forces up to 130 pounds
Regularly walk, stand, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch for durations of up to 3 minutes
Work inside or outside including times of heat, humidity, or other inclement weather conditions
To wear personal protective equipment, such as flame-retardant clothing, eye protection, ear protection, steel-toed boots, hard hat, etc.
Travel 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
1 year of experience in the oil and gas industry
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Work well in both independent and team settings
Valid Driver’s License with a Class A CDL

Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 22,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
