$59,418.00 - $68,841.00


Job Responsibilities

Duties:

  • Conduct Pre-Employment Driver Skills Testing for Highway Maintenance applicants.
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation and training of new Highway Maintenance employees.
  • Evaluate and determine equipment training needs throughout the agency.
  • Revise/update and develop equipment training programs as needed.
  • Monitor and track hourly job classification transfers.
  • Maintain up-to-date status records of CDL and DOT Medical cards for RCOC employees. (Approximately 225) status per employee.
  • Train employees in accordance with MIOSHA “Construction Safety Standards” and “Equipment Operator Training” (e.g. graders, wheel loaders, backhoes, gradall excavators, auger trucks) or like training.
  • Work/communicate with RCOC’s Safety Supervisor.
  • Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. IE Train for CDL A Licenses issuance.
  • Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.


Special Experience/Education

Special Experience/Education:

  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Computer skills are required. (IE: Microsoft office: Access Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.)
  • Three (3) years of prior experience in the large equipment mentioned above is desired. Experience as an Instructor and/or Operator is desired.
  • Possess a valid Michigan Commercial Driver’s License (class ‘A’ with air brake, ‘N’ and ‘T’ endorsements)
  • OSHA Construction Trainer Certification is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep/maintain records timely and accurately.
  • Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position.
