Environmental Services Technician/Custodian

Schedule: Full Time


Shift
: Monday – Friday 6:00AM-2:30PM (day shift); 3:00PM-11:30PM (evening shift)


Location:
Various USD 348 Facilities


Compensation:
$12.42 per hour (day shift); $12.57 per hour (evening shift)


The role you’ll contribute:

Performs a variety of environmental services to maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition. Maintains supplies and/or equipment in clean, and working condition.


The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Cleans assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, vacuuming classrooms, and sanitizing all surfaces
  • Follows policies and procedures in accordance with facility standards
  • Stocks paper items and other supplies in assigned areas
  • Demonstrates a complete knowledge of proper operation procedures of cleaning equipment
  • Cleans class rooms, public areas, restrooms, offices and ancillary rooms in assigned areas. Collects and disposes of trash in an appropriate manner.
  • Procedures include but are not limited to: sweeping, dust mopping, damp mopping, high dusting, wall washing, scrubbing, and vacuuming
  • Adjusts to staff shortages and covering other assigned areas
  • Ensures students, staff, and patrons are safe by participating in snow and ice events
  • Sets up and takes down for special events
  • Ensures class rooms are prepared by adding or removing furniture as requested
  • Uses custodial equipment, such as vacuums, scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and disinfecting machines

Items we need from you:


  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Communication and organizational skills
  • Computer experience, PC and Macintosh
  • Health and Tuberculosis Certificate on file at the District Office (once employment is accepted)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors during inclement weather
  • Ability to work in noisy, crowded, and stressful environments
  • Ability to work safely while on ladders
  • Ability to multitask and the ability to learn new trades
  • Experience with snow and ice removal using plows and spreaders a plus


  • Must be able to communicate and work with District Staff and Community Members
