WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

As a Software Engineering Manager for the Demand Planning/Merchandise Financial Planning team, you will join a highly visible engineering team passionate about aligning strategic objectives with tactical demands. We need an experienced people leader who thrives on solving sophisticated business challenges through technology, collaboration, analysis, and creativity.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

  • Lead a development team delivering end-to-end technology solutions in support of Demand Planning, Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) & Integrated Business Planning (IBP) capabilities.
  • Ensure the team is bringing to bear Nike’s Global Technology delivery methodology to develop Demand Planning capabilities.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and leads the development of key innovation platforms.
  • Develop and leads team metrics. Be accountable for strengthening the team by mentoring, assessing performance, and crafting opportunities for development.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

  • Work closely with Planning & Manufacturing leadership to develop Engineering vision, strategy, and execution plans that are aligned with business outcomes.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Commercial Analytics, and source data owners to develop a sustainable roadmap for MFP Engineering capability.
  • Partner with Technical Product Management and Business Product Management to ensure outcomes are aligned with business expectations.
  • Partner with Engineering Directors and other Engineering Managers to build an effective team and partnership with collaborators.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING?

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in application configuration, customization, development, testing, support, and post-implementation refinement, with extensive exposure to enterprise planning and/or ERP solutions.
  • 5+ years working as an application engineer or system analyst in a sophisticated matrix organization within a global IT environment, possessing a solid grasp of business processes in Planning – preferably in Retail, Supply Chain, and/or Financial Planning.
  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering, including experience with cloud technologies (such as AWS, Azure, GCP), backend services development, and 3rd party integration tools, like NiFi or Kafka.
  • Solid understanding of programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#, and strong data profiling and analysis skills in NoSQL and relational data store environments.
  • Demonstrable understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and modern software architecture.
  • Proficient in DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and automated testing, to ensure streamlined and efficient software development and deployment processes.
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies and best practices, including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Solid project management skill, with the ability to optimally plan, complete, monitor, and control engineering delivery in a structured manner.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrable ability to mentor, coordinate, and guide teams while collaborating with both business and technical audiences.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly matrixed organizational environment, with globally distributed and complementary teams, excelling in team-oriented roles that rely on the ability to collaborate.
  • Self-directed, comfortable working in ambiguous environments, and capable of building positive relationships across Product, Architecture, and Engineering while influencing decisions and changes across loosely coupled teams.

Applicants for this role will report to an office on a hybrid work schedule; Available Locations for this role are WHQ (Beaverton, OR), BATC (San Francisco, CA), ATC (Atlanta, GA)

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $131,000.00 to $285,000.00. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate’s location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
