Employee Relations Partner

GDIT's Employee Relations Team has an opening for an Employee Relations Partner. In this role, you will be a key contributor to a world-class center of excellence team within our Human Resources division. This position offers 100% telework.

Tasks and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides consultation on ER matters to employees at all levels within the organization, and escalates as appropriate
  • Collaborates with HR leadership to facilitate activities to positively enhance the GDIT employee experience, and contribute to proactively addressing ER issues before they occur
  • Supports workforce reduction planning
  • Prepares WARN analysis
  • Conducts investigations of staff reductions resulting in layoff, client removals, and employee complaints and disputes, documents findings and recommends disciplinary action and/or appropriate resolution
  • Effectively partners with other departments during investigations to include legal, HR, accommodations, payroll, and benefits
  • Completes analysis of data, partners with stakeholders, provides recommendations to mitigate risk
  • Assists managers in preparing for employee conversations, and corrective action documents
  • Effectively communicates investigative findings in written justifications and summaries
  • Maintains accurate and timely case documentation
  • Prepares and coordinates off-boarding paperwork and related activities for involuntary separations
  • Provides detailed case documentation and employee profile information to Corporate Legal and/or outside counsel, and participates in deposition proceedings as directed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of related HR experience; OR combination of education, related work experience, and/or training (in lieu of degree 6 years experience required)
  • Two years experience in the area of conducting workplace investigations
  • HR experience in a federal contracting environment
  • Layoff/Workforce reduction planning experience
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Skilled in basic HR and employment law principles
  • Experience with conducting interviews that result in critical fact gathering
  • Experience interacting with all levels of employees on employee relations issues
  • Experience consulting on multiple employee relations issues that vary in scope and complexity
  • Ability to manage a high volume of employee relations cases
  • Highly refined written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality regarding employee information
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and virtual tools such as Zoom/Skype/MSTeams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OCONUS / expatriate staffing experience
