We seek a qualified Micro/Miniature (2M) Electronics Repair Technician in Virginia Beach, VA.

MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE

Job Summary:

The candidate will perform Miniature/Microminiature (2M) and Module Test and Repair utilizing a Huntron Dual Head Prober, fabricate fiber optic cables and copper wire connectors for AN/BPS-15, AN/BPS-16, AN/SPS-48, AN/SPS-67, AN/SPS-73, AN/SPS-80, Bridgemaster-E (BME) and other radars. Work will be accomplished in a lab environment and occasionally onboard ships, submarines, or land-based radar or test sites. ?The candidate will document troubleshooting results and provide problem resolutions or recommendations. ?

Responsibilities and Duties:

The candidate will work in the Decision Technologies, Inc. Repair Facility and perform the following:

  • Perform Microminiature repairs of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs)
  • Troubleshoot multi-layer circuit boards using a Module Test and Repair (MTR) Gold Disk program
  • Build/fabricate cables with multipin copper connectors and fiber optic terminations
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) from engineering specifications, technical drawings, and other technical documentation

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to perform Miniature/Microminiature (2M) and Module Tests and Repairs
  • Ability to map and scan high-density multi-layer circuit boards using a Huntron Dual Head Prober and interpret results
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, including electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, military-technical manuals, and other technical documentation
  • Ability to follow technical troubleshooting procedures and document results
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment down to the Lowest Replaceable Unit (LRU)
  • Ability to fabricate multipin copper connectors and fiber optic terminations
  • Familiar with OSHA safety procedures, including electrical safety, working around energized equipment, hazardous material handling, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Practical experience providing technical reports
  • Personal computer skills and ability to use MS Office applications
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • USN 2M/MTR training and/or certification
  • Fiber optic cable termination training and/or certification
  • Copper connector fabrication training and/or certification
  • Practical experience maintaining and troubleshooting AN/BPS-15, AN/BPS-16, SPS-48, SPS-67, SPS-73, SPS-80, Bridgemaster-e (BME) submarine, ship, or USMC surveillance radars using electronic test equipment including, but not limited to multimeters, power meters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Associates Degree in a technical field, Technical Certification, relevant US Navy NEC, or submarine electronics experience
