POSITION SUMMARY:

• The Electrical Instrumentation Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots electrical and instrumentation systems mill wide.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical and instrumentation systems and equipment.
• Be willing to work rotating weekend coverage and overtime, as necessary.
• Availability for call ins is required.
• Possess good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work from ladders and mobile lifts and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to work safely around power distribution equipment, hydraulic system, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret documentation such as safety procedures, operating/maintenance manuals, and electrical/instrumentation schematics.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining, but not limited to following systems: GE PLC’s, Allen Bradley PLC’s, variable speed AC and DC drives, motor controls, lighting, power distribution, transmitters, control valves.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• No supervisory responsibilities required for this position.

INTERDEPARTMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS:

• Requires adaptability/flexibility to work in all production divisions of the plant.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• The ability to work in a team environment.
• 3 years’ experience in electrical/industrial technology field is preferred.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Michigan Journeyman/ Master License is a plus
• Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good natured, cooperative attitude.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Working indoors and outdoors in cold and hot environment.
• Exposure to cold, warm, and humid conditions.

SAFE WORK PRACTICES:

• Diligently monitor work area for any potential safety hazards and react appropriately/efficiently to eliminate potential accidents.
• Complete accident reports as needed, with support from the Safety Manager.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, and back such as handling product.
• Job requires standing on feet and or walking throughout the majority of the work shift.
• The ability to repeatedly bend, stretch twist, or reach out with your body and arms requiring flexibility.

CLOTHING REQUIREMENTS:

• Steel toed and slip resistant boots/shoes when in production areas.
• Safety glasses will be supplied and are required at all times in the production area.
• Ear plugs required in ALL Production areas.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
