“A Day in the Life”
As an Electrician you will be working with a production team or individually, you will inspect, install, maintain, or repair commercial and residential electrical circuits and equipment. Working individually you will inspect electrical work of others to ensure completeness of work and code compliance. You will serve as the subject matter expert for electrical construction for the inventory center. Trouble shoot and solve problems relating to electrical matters working under the general supervision of another employee.
“What You’ll Do”
- Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment
- Ensure compliance of new and remodel construction with appropriate electrical code
- Monitor the work of employees for productivity, quality and safety with regards to light electrical related work
- Maintain inventory, tools, supplies and work area in an organized manner
- May possibly perform maintenance services, repairs and construction
- May be required to perform troubleshooting and repairs at customer’s site
- Other duties as assigned
“Must Haves”
- Knowledge of codes and industry standards applicable to work performed
- Good at establishing clear directions and lays out work in a well-planned and organized manner. Monitors process, progress and results
- Able to read work orders and company’s construction documents as well as provide guidance to construction team to complete necessary work
- Ability to complete material and labor take offs from blue prints required
- Able to work outside in variable weather conditions
- Ability to use both manual and power tools
- Ability to use mathematics to calculate length, width, depth, etc. as it relates to construction and accuracy of specs and requirements
- Ability to safely perform tasks
- Depending on role level, has begun, attained and maintains current certification through industry standard agency or process; electrical contractor certification a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in the construction industry performing electrical and commercial electrical new construction and remodel construction required
- Knowledge of LEAN a plus
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and other manual labor activities
