• Enjoys the puzzle of creating content to tight character counts while still maintaining quality & interest
• Used to creating “round-ups” of bite-sized, stand-alone pieces of content based on speedy web research
• Happy to put personal writing style and ego away to adopt consistent, objective house style (i.e. this task won’t suit features writers who love to write articles spanning 2000+ words, packed with opinions)
• Puts themselves in the users’ shoes – asks themselves, what information would I need to make the decision to book this hotel (or not)?
• Understands the necessity of hitting weekly deadlines
• Inspired to participate in a Google project that will reach millions of people

Project overview

After researching a hotel using approved sources, writers will need to identify what makes the hotel unique and cover primary reasons to book, plus key benefits. Hotel descriptions should be written in the clear, conversational, and objective Google tone of voice, and be consistent with requirements set out in the editorial guidelines.

Skills & experience

· Consistent & concise writer, able to identify & prioritize key information & exclude everything else

· Ability to follow a very structured editorial style

· Accurate & efficient researcher

· Technically savvy, with experience in content management systems and spreadsheets

· Ability to adapt to new requirements, both editorial & technical, as the project develops

Experience

· 5+ years of professional writing experience

· Experience in the hotel and/or travel sectors preferred

· Broad destination knowledge preferred

· Experience working on content for hotel brands/online travel agencies preferred

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
