About Foster Thrift
Foster Thrift is a division of Foster First, a Child Placing Agency specialized in Foster Care services located in Yakima. The store first opened its doors in Kennewick on March 26, 2022, to provide financial support to the foster care program, and to bring awareness to foster care. In the state of Washington, there are thousands of youths in the foster care system in need of a home, a family. Foster Thrift helps connect interested adults and/or parents to Foster First's licensors to learn about the licensing process on how to become a foster parent. With Foster Thrift's help, we will continue to expand our foster care services to Benton County and the surrounding counties.
Donation Processor
We are hiring for a full-time Donation Processor to work on Tuesdays thru Saturdays from 9:00am - 5:30pm. The candidate must be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills, have computer skills, be dependable, self-motivated, a team player, and available to work ASAP. This position will focus on processing donations and will assist with the retail floor (cash register, cleaning, organizing, setting up displays, etc.).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Is able to daily perform any of the required job duties within the processing team. This includes all requirements related to accepting donations, presorting, and pricing merchandise.
- As needed, welcome donors in a timely manner in a way that they feel confident that Foster Thrift appreciates them and understands their value.
- As needed, handle the receiving and donation process with the utmost respect and care including, greeting the donor, assisting in unloading donations, telling the Foster Thrift Store story, repeating details back to donor and issuing a receipt.
- Help maintain clean and well-organized reception, presort and processing areas.
- Maintain clean and well-organized personal processing station.
- Adhere to all employee policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Policy and Procedures manual and the Foster Thrift Stores’ Mission Statement.
- Ability to recognize quality merchandise and effectively seek guidance on pricing from the Processing Manager.
- Work with and effectively communicate with the Processing Manager, other processing employees, and donors daily.
- Daily service and support with employees so that there is a healthy and productive work environment.
- Adhere to daily and weekly production goals.
- Ability to produce quick and accurate work in a fast-paced environment.
- Understand and comply with policies and procedures related to donated items, including prohibited items and pricing guides.
- Effectively use the donation receiving script to communicate appreciation and the Foster First & Thrift Story to donors.
- Other job duties as assigned (i.e. assist on the retail floor).

- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with an excellent command of the English language.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED Required

VISION REQUIREMENTS
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)

- Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
- Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).

- Ability to adjust focus (adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS
Tuesday and Saturday, 9:00am - 5:30pm (subject to change). Attendance at specific meetings, off-site events or training, as required.

- Must have a reliable form of transportation to travel to work
- Must provide proof of auto insurance upon hire and annually while employed
