Safe Journeys provides free, confidential support for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in LaSalle and Livingston Counties.

Be part of our team to help adults (regardless of gender identity, age, abilities, citizenship status) live lives free from violence and to raise community awareness of domestic and sexual violence.

Counselors provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling services to survivors of domestic violence in LaSalle and Livingston counties. They provide client-centered and trauma-informed emotional support in order to promote self-reliance and positive self-esteem, as well promote necessary life skills.

Counselors also provide medical advocacy, facilitate support groups, present to the community regarding domestic violence, as well as attend required supervision. They may be required to participate in our agency on-call system and must be able to respond to local medical facilities within 60 minutes, including nights and weekends.

Applicants must have at least a bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related human services field. Bilingual (Spanish speaking) applicants are preferred but not required. EOE
