Distribution Center Maintenance Coach

Facility: ADAPT-165 Wingo Road, Byhalia, MS 38611

Available Shift: Tuesday-Friday-6AM-4:30PM

As our Maintenance Coach, you'll support and supervise our Maintenance Technicians, MHE Analyst and Contract Employees in their operational duties, including mechanical, electrical, structural repair, PLC, conveyor maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.

What you will work on

You'll plan, develop and implement construction/maintenance projects, and aligning with the Facilities Area Manager and vendors as necessary! You'll also coordinate with the Operations Management team to perform large and small area moves and plan options for facility capacity maximization. Supervise and perform various skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings and equipment; and maintain an adequate spare parts and tool inventory to accurately support the facility. This opportunity also involves scheduling vendor compliance audits regarding specifications of construction and service contract agreements and coordinating an effective preventative maintenance program to minimize equipment failure. In addition, you'll maintain a proven understanding of equipment indigenous to various support systems, including conveyors, sortation equipment, PLCs, compressors and air handlers!


What you bring:

  • 2-year degree in Business, Engineering or combination of relevant education, experience, and training

  • 5 years supervisory and maintenance management experience in a distribution center or manufacturing environment is required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PPT) is required

  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary and with little or no notice is required and on-call to support a 24/7 operation

  • Knowledge of effective communication, motivation and participative management techniques in response to critical equipment failure

  • 5 years proven experience in electronics, electrical controls, PLC, wiring, motor construction and repair is preferred

  • 3 years experience leading all aspects of maintenance and facilities capital projects is preferred

  • Experience with lift equipment and HVAC, fire protection and material handling systems

  • Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA and NEC codes and standards

  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to make sound business decisions, pay attention to detail, solve problems, work well under tight deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks at once and the ability to perform Root Cause Analysis

  • Ability to prioritize workload appropriately and work in coordination with a group to achieve a common goal with Maintenance Planning

  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner

  • Progressive conveyor and sortation experience
