The Wheatland County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking dependable and motivated applicants for full-time dispatch/correctional officers. This position has health insurance to include optional dental and vision. Competitive salary starting at $17.06/hr with full retirement after 20 years of service with the Sheriff's Retirement System. Skillset requires applicants must be able to work well with others, multi-task, and have a passion for being of service to others. Computer experience, as well as typing skills are a plus, as this is a technical position. A high school diploma, or equivalent, and a valid MT Driver's License are required for employment. Applicants must be able to work varying shifts to include weekends and holidays. This position offers two fully paid professional courses at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy. The first is Public Safety Telecommunication Basic (2 weeks in length), and the second is Correction Detention Basic (4 weeks in length). You usually go to these within the first year of employment. No current criminal activity or felony convictions.
