The Director of the School of Computing and Analytics provides leadership and vision for one of two schools in the College of Informatics. The director serves as supervisor of all school faculty and is a member of the college’s leadership team, reporting to the dean.
Primary Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the School Director are listed in Section 1 of the NKU Department Chair School / Director Handbook. Responsibilities fall under the categories of personnel management, fiscal management, and responsibilities to students.
The School Director also ensures the successful operations of academic programs within the school by leading a team of Program Heads and an Associate School Director.
School Directors in the College of Informatics will:
- Provide direction and vision for the school.
- Convene regular school meetings.
- Serve on College Leadership Team.
- Attend the Council of Chairs.
- Play the standard chair role in RPT reviews.
- Conduct full-time faculty annual performance reviews.
- Play the standard chair role in curriculum approval.
- Provide regular communication to the faculty of the school.
- Participate in strategic and budget planning for college.
- Manage the budget for the school and serves as approver for purchases.
- Serve as the first point of contact for faculty concerns and class-related student concerns.
- Serve as the point of contact between the administration and the programs of the school.
The teaching load of the School Director will normally be one 3-credit course per year or equivalent.

Qualifications
A tenured faculty appointment as a Full Professor in the College of Informatics, a record of successful administrative service (e.g., program director, chair, or related role), and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
