The Director of Workforce will oversee workforce development initiatives and programs to support the growth of the community and our organization. This position will work closely with the business, education, government, and non-profit community to develop unique solutions to the workforce issues facing our region and internal leadership to identify opportunities and develop strategies to support the organization’s goals. This position plays a critical role in convening groups, identifying needs, and building solutions. This is a highly external facing position with specific focus on development of partner relationships and fund development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Responsible for the continued development and implementation of The Foundation’s workforce portfolio

· Responsible for implementation and adoption of Ignite FMWF platform and collaborates with leadership on overall strategy of the Ignite Initiative – The Foundation’s regional workforce infrastructure initiative

· Develop and maintain multi-stakeholder relationships with community partners to build and sustain workforce programming long-term.

· Lead workforce division by collaborating with and motivating direct reports in acclimation, development, and retention.

· Keep up to date with trends and best practices in regional, state, and federal workforce development and make recommendations for improvements to existing programs.

· Identify gaps within the community, creates innovative solutions, and convenes partners for implementation through new program design and implementation

· Monitor and evaluate workforce initiatives and programs to measure effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement

· Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify and secure funding for workforce initiatives

· Represent the Foundation and the Chamber on workforce issues through presentations, convening stakeholders, speaking with audiences, and facilitating conversations.

· Support The FMWF Chamber and The Chamber Foundation’s mission and values

· Collaborate with Chamber staff and assist with programming, events, and publications as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Entrepreneurial spirit and self-starter.

· Strategic growth mindset with ability to manage multiple projects and meetings while meeting deadlines.

· Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining multi-stakeholder relationships.

· Self-awareness of personal attitudes, beliefs, biases, and assumptions about others.

· A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in workforce acclimation/attraction, recruitment, training/development, management, or related field.

· Excellent oral, and written communication skills and ability to make public presentations.

· Questions conventional approaches, and shares insights and ideas on how to do things differently.

· Designs and implements new methods of conducting business.

· Ability to be flexible and quickly shift focus when needed.

· Passionate about the FMWF community.

· Values transparent collaboration and team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, such as business, education, communication, or workforce development or substantial related field experience

· Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills

· Knowledge of current trends and best practices in workforce development

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

· Strong project management and organizational skills

· Experience managing budgets and securing funding for initiatives

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
