Summary
We are proud to announce the opening of Hyatt Regency Baytown, which will make its debut in Houston Spring 2023.The Hyatt Regency of Baytown will be the first full-service hotel in the city of Baytown, with 208 luxury guest rooms and suites. In addition, the hotel will have 18,000 square feet of event space, multiple food and beverage outlets, and leisure amenities. We anticipate catering to the groups, social events, business travelers, and leisure guests who will now have a first-class hotel option in the City of Baytown.
The Director of Sales, Marketing and Events has direct oversight of building and managing a Sales, Marketing and Events team of highly energized and motivated managers and support staff. They manage the recruitment and hiring of all sales, marketing, events managers, trainees, and support staff. The Director leads, trains, mentors, manages and coaches this team and is expected to develop all managers in their selling and servicing processes to meet company goals and maximize hotel revenues.
Responsibilities include the oversight of Sales, Marketing and Events Budget/P&L, expense and revenue forecasting, advertising, marketing, developing, and writing business plans, and ownership relationships. Additionally, this role leads the development and implementation of both short-term and long-term strategies in all sales, events, and marketing channels to achieve hotel’s revenue goals and increase market share performance.
Must be able to train and monitor the group, transient and events contractual, legal and risk agreement practices, establish booking guidelines and pricing expectations, full knowledge of sales and events booking platforms and uphold all company policies and procedures associated with managing these systems. Identifying the challenges in each year throughout the booking cycle and developing a plan with tactics to address the issues.
The Director of Sales, Marketing and Events reports directly to the General Manager with ongoing involvement and oversight from the Regional Vice President of Sales and the Corporate Director of Events.

Qualifications
- Sales, Marketing and Events Leadership experience, minimum of 2-3 years in a successful Director role, preference with pre-opening hotel experience
- Ideal candidate is self-starter, accountable and self-sufficient
- Must be a caring leader that builds trust and engagement by cultivating genuine relationships
- Proven clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in working closely with ownership groups, and developing business/asset review documents
- Experience in creating and presenting annual operational and marketing budgets, as well as strategic revenue and marketing plans
- Demonstrates innovative thinking that will challenge business processes and concepts in order to drive results
- Must be creative and strategic in developing marketing/advertising campaigns and be managing various social media platforms
- Coordinate media interest and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.
- Oversee digital marketing efforts including supervision of website enhancements and maintenance
- Must have strong technology/computer skills and proficiency in working with Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint, email, recruiting, sales, digital platforms
- Experience with managing known industry sales and revenue systems/programs
- On property position, flexible work hours/days, some nights, and weekends, when necessary, based on business and staffing needs
- Proven industry and community involvement
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
