Director of Nursing
FT $100,000 P/A, $5000 sign on bonus, 20 days paid time off
DUTIES
The Director of Nursing is a qualified licensed Nurse, appointed by the Executive Team, to administer, direct, and coordinate all regulatory administrative, and clinical activities of the Home Health Agency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Be familiar with and meet federal, state and CHAP accreditation requirements to ensure Calm Care’s AHCA license and CHAP accreditation is maintained.
Supervises the day-to-day operations of the agency.
Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate operations to ensure the provision of Gold standard care and services.
Comply with applicable laws and regulations, ensuring compliance for licensing and billing.
Manage the agency CRM system ensuring all staff are suitably trained to effectively use the program and that all activities are accurately documented for billing
Ensure the implementation of organizational policies and procedures, as well as the development, and implementation, of appropriate service policies.
Working with the executive team, ensure the appropriate recruitment, selection and the retention of staff.
Establish, and maintain, effective channels of communication.
Ensure clinical staff development, including orientation, in-service education, continuing education, and evaluation of staff.
Direct, and monitor, organizational Performance Improvement activities.
Ensure appropriate staff supervision, during all operating hours.
Ensure the appropriate deployment of staff considering the clients care plan.
Complete performance evaluations, on subordinate staff, in accordance with Agency policy.
Ensure that he/she, or a pre-designated person, is available, during all operating hours.
Inform the executive team, and staff, of current organizational, community, and industry trends in monthly meetings.
Lead in the completion of SOC and POC ensuring compliance with Medicare requirements.
Serves as one of the Agency’s Disaster Coordinator.
Acts as corporate compliance officer and assumes responsibilities described in the Agency corporate compliance plan.
Acts as the HIPAA Privacy Officer.
CONTINUING PROGRAM EVALUATION
Participate in the review, analysis, and appraisal of the effectiveness of the Calm Care Home Health Agency delivery.
Evaluate / review service policies and functions annualy and recommend proposals for changes or study of problems that affect the Agency.
Evaluate the performance of all staff, to establish standards and the individual’s professional development.
Implement all utilization review activities.
Coordinate the timely implementation of corrective action plans and controls.
JOB CONDITIONS
Position is stressful in terms of meeting deadlines and managing multiple staff in the field.
It may require some lifting.
Most of the time, it is a desk job, which essentially involves sitting, standing, stooping, and walking, as well as an inordinate amount of telephone communication. However, whilst the agency is growing, multi-tasking including visiting new clients and meeting referral partners may be a part of this role.
Travel is required, by car or airplane to local, out-of-town, or state seminars, conferences, or meetings.
The ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, in English is required.
Must be able to read type that is 12 point or larger.
EQUIPMENT OPERATION
The ability to utilize a PC, CRM system, calculator, multi-line telephone, and other related office equipment is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Is a registered nurse with a degree in Nursing, licensed to work in Florida; and
- Has at least 2 years of clinical supervisory experience preferably in home healthcare as well as nursing experience.
- Must have a criminal background check
