Job description
Duties include, but are not limited to: developing and planning department goals and programs to ensure the most cost effective means of service delivery that enhance the quality of life and self-sufficiency of the City of Miami's most underserved, providing recommendations for the allocation of funds to different community partners and/or programs, developing the departmental budget, presenting and reporting on department activities, building relationships with community leaders to better understand the needs of the constituents, attending meetings, participating in the promotion of programs via radio, television, in-person appearances, or other media outlets, in order to educate and inform the public, and performing other related duties as required.

Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Economics, Social Science, or a related field.
Extensive eight (8) years) of progressively responsible experience within the fields of community development and/or economic development which must have included considerable four (4) years supervisory experience.
Master’s degree is preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and experience beyond a bachelor’s degree in an aforementioned or closely related field.
