DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

$110-130,000 salary + benefits

4-Day Workweek!


POSITION SUMMARY

Hacienda CDC seeks a Director of Finance who brings nonprofit accounting expertise, strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, and a growth mindset. We are a passionate, fast-paced group of leaders spearheading growth to improve housing stability, wraparound supports and homeownership services for the communities we serve.

The Director of Finance oversees accounting operations and processes to ensure the organization is financially strong and fiscally responsible, including budget preparation, financial reporting, the annual audit, and tax returns. This position is a member of the Hacienda Leadership Team and the Executive Finance Board Committee, ensuring optimal financial operations and informed decision-making. Our operating budget is $18 million, with property assets of over $50 million. The position reports to our COO.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • Certified Public Accountant required
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in non-profit accounting with deep understanding of grant management and complex fund accounting
  • At least three years of supervisory experience
  • Housing or social services background is a plus
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills; high emotional intelligence, communicates positively, proactively, and collaboratively
  • Possess a strong growth mindset and open to learning about administration, the closing of loans and compliance of affordable housing tax credit finance investments
  • Shows decisiveness, affirmative and resourceful, self-motivated
  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, OMB, federal, state, local laws, standards and regulations, especially as they relate to non-profit accounting
  • Familiarity with Low Income Housing Tax Credit and New Markets Tax Credit structures a plus
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, database management and finance software such as Abila Fund Accounting software preferred

PAY:

The salary and wage ranges that Hacienda advertises for the position, mean that the starting pay offered to the candidate will fall somewhere within the range posted. We recognize that each candidate brings with them a unique combination of experiences, education, skills and abilities, therefore the offer will be tailored to the individual.

A bilingual Spanish premium of up to 3% is available after 90 days upon successful completion of a language assessment. (According to policy, even if language is not required or preferred, a person can get a 1% increase).
