POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Clinical Education oversees, plans, directs designs and implements educational programs directed at members of the organization and to the public. The incumbent develops curriculum or content for classes, lectures, conferences or other educational materials. They ensures all activities and requirements regarding the organizations educational programs are met, including accredited educational programs. The director positively promotes a culture of learning throughout the organization and directs the development of programs that utilized e-learning where appropriate. The incumbent leads programs with external agencies such as nursing and other education institutions, developing effective communication and organization of clinical rotations. They directs the activities of house-wide education to assist Hillcrest South in meeting the requirements of DNV and other federal state and local regulatory accrediting agencies. - Directs all activities and requirements regarding the organizations educational programs ensuring they are met, including accredited educational programs.
- Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.
- Cooperates and interacts with supervisors, peers, other departments and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to “service”.
- Meets Budget (Operating & Capital) for assigned areas.
- Mentors, coaches, and develops educational team members to accomplish goals.
- Administers the learning management system including e-learning for the hospital.
- Develops effective relationships with educational institutions acting as a liaison with nursing schools and clinical rotation planning.
- Directs and organizes the activities all staff serving in an education position within the hospital
- Develops and directs the competency validation process including tracking for all positions.
- Works in conjunction with Human Resources to provide robust onboarding program to new hires.
- Takes ownership of assignments, special projects, pilot programs; other duties as assigned or requested.
- Master’s Degree in Education, Health Education or Organizational Development, or equivalent. MSN with education emphasis.
- Five (5) years related experience with 2 of those in a supervisory capacity. Experience in e-learning environment, required.
- Valid OK Nursing license or OK compact license (within 90 days of hire) preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles and of a wide range of training methods, techniques, and formats. Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
