POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Content Marketing for Communications, Marketing, and Public Affairs (CMPA) reports to the Sr. Director, Marketing and Brand Strategy. This role oversees, directs, and manages all aspects of written marketing content to key external audiences. This position is responsible to ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style and quality, and optimized for the user experience. Person works closely with the Creative Director and Marketing Directors to deliver brand and marketing initiatives.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree in related field
10-15 years’ experience in a senior content management or editorial role.

JOB DUTIES

Oversees all aspects of clinical, patient-targeted content marketing to key external audiences. Ensures that content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style and quality, and optimized for search and user experience. Works closely with the marketing management team to integrate key institutional messages across all media and channels, both on and offline.
Works with owners of particular clinical content to refine and measure content goals such as customer engagement metrics, web and social media traffic growth, and conversion metrics.
Maps out and refines an annual content strategy and editorial calendar that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short and long-term.
Manages a broad range of writing projects including definition and implementation of content management processes for both print and web materials.
Directs, supervises, and educates both internal and freelance writers and videographers to ensure that patient care content meets the needs of customers and delivers it in a way that they want to consume it.
Conducts user testing on content; gathers data and oversees the handling of analytics, making recommendations for content reconfiguration based on the results.
Provides strategic counsel on positioning and development/delivery of key brand messages.
Positions clinical faculty and senior leadership in credible ways to the external constituencies.
Proactively maintains knowledge of the information needs of key market segments, leveraging medical center research, news and magazine articles on health topics, medical staff profiles, and other existing sources of information to create new and distinctive web, video, social, and print content.
Works closely with other members of the editorial teams to ensure content marketing goals are met.
