Job Description

The Director of the Medical Staff Office & Credentialing is responsible for organization, planning, direction and evaluation of services provided by the Medical Staff Office. This position is responsible for coordinating the administrative function related to the credentialing and privileging process for all medical staff and allied health professions. The Director is responsible for the entire physician credentialing file and process, and ensures everything is complete and up to date and meets all regulatory requirements. The Director is actively involved win the Medical Staff Committee meetings, he/she is readily available to assist and support during all regulatory activity pertaining to Medical Staff and the requirements, and follows and complies with all TJC and CMS requirements.

This person reports to the Chief Quality Officer and has direct reports. This position is responsible for coordinating the administrative function related to the credentialing and privileging process for all medical staff and allied health professions. The Director is responsible for the entire physician credentialing file and process, and ensures everything is complete and up to date and meets all regulatory requirements. The Director is actively involved win the Medical Staff Committee meetings, he/she is readily available to assist and support during all regulatory activity pertaining to Medical Staff and the requirements, and follows and complies with all TJC and CMS requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in business or health services administration or related field.

Requires a minimum of 3 years previous experience as a Supervisor or Director of Medical Staff Services and Credentialing.

Membership/affiliation with the National Association of Medical Staff Services and/or the State Association of Medical Staff Services is highly preferred.
