This Role will be hybrid based from our Calabasas office.

Essential Job Description:

As a Digital Signal Processing Engineer at YGG, you will help to design, develop, and maintain audio signal processing algorithms for music products used by musicians worldwide. This is a highly collaborative role and you will work on a team with Hardware, Software, and other DSP Engineers as well as Product Owners and Project Managers to design and develop high-performance, low-latency real-time embedded products that provide an elevated user experience for our customers. In this role, you will:

• Design, implement, debug and troubleshoot DSP software meeting our unique real-time audio processing requirements
• Develop software for embedded and desktop processors in such languages as C, C++, etc.
• Analyze and document DSP software
• Learn from other engineers, and enjoy a creative development environment
• Collaborate on a cross-functional team

Experience/Qualifications

What you Bring to the table

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science
• 3+ years of experience in Digital Signal Processing
• Expertise in such audio digital signal processing concepts as multi-rate processing, linear and non-linear systems, Fourier theory, z-transforms, etc.
• Proficiency in Matlab, python (numpy, scipy, etc.), or similar
• Experience with implementing audio signal processing algorithms on embedded processors such as SHARC, ARM, Blackfin, HiFi, etc.
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and estimate development time
• Appreciation of audio system performance

• Desired Qualifications:
• M.S. or higher with an emphasis on Digital Signal Processing
• Experience applying machine learning to solve problems related to audio signal processing
• Experience with virtual analog modeling
• Experience with multi-threading and synchronization
• Experience writing low-level APIs, interrupts, and hardware interface code
• Experience with *nix operating systems
• Musical background a plus

• Salary Range is DOE $90,000-$105,000

The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, exclusive of overtime, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Yamaha Guitar Group will consider the individual candidate's education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
