Position summary
The Manager of Digital and Social Media plays a central role in the overall success of Brookgreen Gardens and the Marketing department, overseeing interactions with the public through implementing content strategies on social media platforms, improve website content and enhance brand awareness to successfully fulfill Brookgreen’s mission. The Manager of Digital and Social Media is responsible for developing brand awareness, generating, and tracking inbound traffic and encouraging engagement through the organization's social platforms and website.
Core responsibilities
· Analyze the company’s social media strategy and identify strategic weakness and make recommendations for improvements
· Develop compelling, creative, and engaging content for all social media channels, including basic graphics, and photography where appropriate.
· Conduct video shooting and editing for content creation.
· Perform community management and monitor and respond to social inquiries and feedback.
· Execute various facets of the institution’s marketing plan as established by the Director of Marketing.
· Possesses a strong understanding of Brookgreen’s programs, special events, and mission and provides informative tours to group planners, and other marketing related contacts.
· Acts as the main representative for consignment ticket sales agreements and distribution.
· Distribute approved admission coupons and collateral marketing material to key businesses and builds productive relationships with them.
· Develop and sustain strong working relationships with internal personnel across all functions of the organization, cross-culturally.
Minimum Qualifications:
Self-starter that is resourceful, creative, and capable of handling multiple projects at one time and meeting deadlines.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while efficiently and effectively managing competing priorities.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related. 3+ years of experience in progressive marketing communication roles.
Knowledge and experience with public relations techniques. Comfortable use of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite – particularly Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere Pro. Expert use of MS Office Suite. Conversant with basic HTML code. Comfortable working in a networked computer environment. Experience with online email marketing platforms such as MailChimp or MyEmma.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills.
Fluency across multiple social media platforms.
