JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Dietary Services Coordinator is to coordinate daily dining services for participants to include, but not limited to, ensuring overage for all feeing groups, daily meal prep, service of meals, dialysis lunches, to include outside appointments, dining room set-up and texture modified meals, daily lunch schedule, database percentage entry of participant meals and snack intake, kitchen inventory, monitoring of refrigerator and freezer temperatures, maintenance of our emergency food supply and dry goods and monthly audit completion of dining practices/processes and procedures. This position will assist with patient care activities as part of their daily assigned duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 
  Education/Experience: Required: high school diploma. Preferred Qualifications: ServSafe Certification, and a minimum of one year of related food/dietary service experience in an environment caring for older adults.

  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must be able to treat people of all ages including geriatrics
  • Only act within the scope of his/her authority to practice
  • Meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by Piedmont Health SeniorCare and approved by CMS before working independently
  • Upon employment, must become trained in CPR and First Aid

  Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.

  
  Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to medical providers, patients and multiple personnel in person and over the telephone.

  
  Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Must meet certification by colorblind standards.

  
  Other: Will be working with potentially hazardous chemicals, exposure to patient body fluids.

  Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.

  Requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift. Requires exposure to communicable diseases and/or bodily fluids.
