Job description
Custom has an opening for a desktop technician in a K-12 school district. The technician is primarily responsible for quick response to deskside support tickets and addressing administration’s needs.
Responsibilities:
- Actively address tickets in the system, update, and close tickets
- Prioritize daily activities including tickets and administration requests
- Support Windows workstations
- Troubleshoot Chromebooks, optimize, reimage, or update ticket for repair
- Install and troubleshoot peripherals like printers, scanners, and projectors
- Address high volume of Smart interactive whiteboard tickets
- Report modifications for advanced endpoint protection to supervisor
- Work with other technicians and IT support staff to update documentation
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 1 – 2 years of technical experience, deskside preferred
- 1 year customer service experience
- Expert level fundamental skills including Windows Workstation OS 10 and 11, Chrome OS, networking, wired and Wi-Fi installation and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of ticketing systems
- Knowledge of advanced endpoint protection vs anti-virus protection
- Keep composure in a highly active environment
- Able to lift to 50 lbs.
- High School diploma required; some college preferred
- A+, HDI or ITIL certification a plus
- Individual will be required to pass NYS Education fingerprinting and background check before starting this role, in addition to Custom’s background requirements

Pay: $38,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
