About the Role :
The Demand Planner is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with assigned customers and products. This role is the integration point between Sales and Supply teams. The Demand Planner creates and maintains forecast models for their customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, retailer replenishment analysts, and other sources. These forecasts prompt inventory purchasing decisions with the objective of maximizing customer satisfaction and minimizing excess inventory. This position also leads the dialogue each month for their respective customers and products with key counterparts in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Collaboratively develop and propose forecasts through use of historical sales data, statistical forecasts, market trends, POS data and other sources for accurate product forecasts used by planners & sourcing to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Utilize forecasting tools to ensure current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts that support company inventory objectives while meeting customer service expectations.
  • Prepare, analyze and present demand forecasts which support the business plans while clearly identifying and explaining variances to historical performance and prior forecast.
  • Review sales vs. forecasts, update projections and explain any variances by working closely with the sales teams.
  • Stay up-to-date of Fiskars product transitions and pricing that impact assigned accounts, communicate changes and maintain Fiskars data as needed.
  • Participate in cross functional meetings, proactively sharing information with Sales, Channel and Supply to ensure internal and external targets, expectations and initiatives are met.
  • Understand financial impact of daily activities and propose actions ensure company plans and expectations are met.
  • Report and analyze KPI's on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Communicate progress on delivering results to Management and key stakeholders.
  • Analyze and improve forecast accuracy; effectively determine sources of error and implement appropriate improvement plans.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Math, Operations Management or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in key aspects of forecasting, demand planning, and/or statistical analysis
  • Demonstrated proficiency in forecasting methods
  • Strong analytical skills that enable one to clearly understand forecasting patterns or changes, and then provide recommendations for future forecasts
  • High attention to detail, strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter and persistent with strong analytical and organizational skills
The role is located out of the Middleton Wisconsin office, and is eligible for the hybrid working model.
