Job Scope

The Demand Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end monthly Consensus Demand Planning process including driving collaboration globally across multiple functions within the organization & with external partners, creating metrics and issuing reports for the Acumed and OsteoMed brand product portfolio. Will keep the official record of all Demand side Assumptions, Risk and Opportunities as part of the organization’s monthly Integrated Business Planning process.

Responsibilities

• Constructs the multi-tiered Demand Planning process using as few product families as possible.
• Develops the baseline plan using statistical analysis to modify with other inputs regarding future initiatives, internal and external.
• Works continuously to eliminate Demand Plan bias, reduce error and smooth Demand volatility.
• Formally document assumptions, vulnerabilities (risks), and opportunities to improve accuracy and manage Demand.
• Review and update Demand Plan frequently and communicates critical changes to stakeholders in both Demand and Supply.
• Maintains comprehensive Demand Plan covering the rolling 24-month horizon running from the Aggregate Revenue level down through the SKU volume level.
• Collaborates with key Demand-side stakeholders for inputs in a manner that ensures their tasks are intuitive, so that little to no training is required for success, and streamlined, so that it takes little time.
• Monitors actual Demand versus the Plan to identify significant differences requiring intervention to vet the demand signals and provide inputs to the Short Term Supply stakeholders for action.
• Coaches and mentors Sales, Marketing (Product Management) and key Customers (Distributors) in Demand Planning and Demand Control/Execution processes to drive accountability, accuracy and stability.
• Leads the Demand Planning discussions at Consensus Meetings and the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Demand Review.
• Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to support evaluation of Demand Plan performance, improvement efforts/problem solving and Demand shaping initiatives.
• Build and manage strong, long-term relationships within the company and with external parties, such as distributors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply and Logistics or related field required or 8 years of combined Demand and Supply Planning in a manufacturing environment with a track record of increasing responsibilities or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience within a monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)/Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process is highly preferred.
• Experience in regulated industry manufacturing, preferably medical device, to include direct supplier relationship management and supplier quality management.
• APICS/ASCM/IBF certification or Operations/Industrial Management education/certification a plus.
• Proven proficiency with working with data from ERPs (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office, (proficient with Word, Excel, Access and Outlook).
• Ability to manage complex projects, work teams and tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and supervisory experience leading teams.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to read, understand and complete all paperwork.
