Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented DCGS Systems Engineer in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Systems engineering – responsible for system requirements, design, documentation, risks, quality of system solutions
- System documentation: Engineering artifacts, contract artifacts, requirements traceability, manuals.
- Assists in the definition and programming of moderately complex software
- Works effectively on several phases of systems/software programming/analysis with little direction, but may require some instruction and guidance for other aspects
- Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of hardware and software operating systems for the organization's products
- May assist in the coding of benchmark testing, job accounting and other control modules developed internally by the company/ assist with moderately complex software applications, such as system generations, compilers, link editors, and assemblers
- Interacts with system users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design
- Participates in the development of test strategies
- Solving engineering objectives, or managing solutions of engineering challenges, in the functional area to which assigned

- Improve technical expertise through the identification of new processes and technical alternatives to resolve problems and/or general improvements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree, preferably in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other Engineering or Technical discipline and have 3 years of related professional work experience focused in systems engineering within the last five(5) years.
- Four (4) additional years (total seven years) of related professional work experience can be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Proficiency with Puppet automation (Preferably Puppet Enterprise)
- Proficiency scripting with PowerShell and .NET/Core
- Proficiency scripting with Python, Bash, Ruby and/or Ability
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to our standard requirements for the systems engineering position, the following can help a candidate be effective in supporting our team:
- Linux, preferably RedHat
- Containers experience
- Software architecture and software architecture diagrams
- Experience in requirements traceability
Ideally the person would work on the container effort working to plan and document how the system is architected, while working with the software and integration teams.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II qualified certification (CompTIA Security+)
- Professional work experience with US Army intelligence systems, especially DCGSA.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- DOD TS/SCI
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
