Position Summary

The Data Entry Specialist role will support weekly data backfilling for the Camden Coalition’s maternal health population initiative. This initiative is focused on improving access to timely prenatal and other pregnancy related care for pregnant people with a recent ER visit through proactive outreach from our clinical and community-based partners. The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for reviewing and interpreting medical records and outreach documentation from partners. As a member of the Population Health Initiatives department, you will play an integral role in the operations of the Coalition’s patient-centered care interventions while receiving ongoing training and exposure to the field of Complex Care.

The ideal candidate:

  • Enjoys quickly sifting through patient data for several hours a day;
  • Has an aptitude and desire to learn to use database software, including running reports and calculations, on the job;
  • Has high attention to detail;
  • Can commit to work a minimum of 30 hours/week, schedule is flexible with the option to work remotely (optional extra hours may be available on a weekly basis)
Requirements: Essential Functions
  • Perform chart review in the Camden Coalition Health Information Exchange to determine appointment and health outcomes for patients that were identified for clinical redesign pilots
  • Review and interpret outreach documentation and transpose into outcome categories
  • Identify trends in the data such as documentation patterns and make recommendations to solve identified problems
  • Ensure all fields are accurately and fully completed
  • Complete data entry and quality assurance of care intervention program data
  • Support administrative tasks as needed

Non-Essential Functions
  • Attend relevant training as necessary to maintain professional certification and/or knowledge.
  • Adheres to the Coalition’s guidelines and ensures the appropriate handling of sensitive information.
  • Completes special projects specific to the function of the department or as needed for the department.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of position expectations.

  • Excellent attention to detail • Effective research, analytical, and documentation skills required
  • Ability to quickly synthesize multiple sources of information
  • Effective oral and written communications, with demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear and concise fashion with diverse stakeholders
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders as demonstrated by compassionate, courteous, cordial, cooperative, and professional interaction with diverse groups of co-workers, external business partners, and the community
  • Highly computer literate. Comfortable with learning new software, working with databases, and organizing and manipulating data.
  • Demonstrates ability to carefully set priorities, meet deadlines, and schedule time efficiently
  • Ability to be proactive, anticipate challenges and clearly communicate about the status of projects and deliverables.
  • Ability to accurately type, effectively operate a computer, and use a variety of common software programs including Microsoft Office
Experience, Education, and Licensure
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Excel
  • Basic understanding of pregnancy, and pregnancy-related health challenges, preferred
Logistics
  • We ask that the candidate commit to work a minimum of 30 hours per week (with the potential option of up to 40 hrs/week some weeks), hours are flexible.
  • Option to work in-person at the Coalition’s office at 800 Cooper Street, Camden, NJ or fully remotely if desired.
  • The position will begin as soon as possible and end June 30th with the potential option to extend depending on available funding.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Data Entry Specialist may frequently stand, walk and sit in an office environment.
  • The Data Entry Specialist will operate a computer and keyboard as part of this role.
  • There will be occasional lifting up to 15-20lbs.
