Duties and Responsibilities:
Wabtec Enterprise Information Security is hiring for Cyber Defense Security Manager. Under the direction of senior team members within the Chief Information Security Office (CISO) Enterprise Information Security Team, the position will lead a team that provides security services to areas within Information Technology and will lead their team in providing in-depth and highly technical information security consulting and services focused on the enterprise services IT provides to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of these systems.

A Day in The Life of a Cyber Security Defense Manager:
  • Leads a team that safeguards information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems. This may include access and identity management.
  • Protects system by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
  • Recognizes problems by identifying anomalies; reporting security violations, leveraging current tools and applying cyber techniques to protect environment.
  • Implements security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Determines security violations and inefficiencies by conducting control monitoring. Adhering to Security Standards to maintain compliance and security.
  • ecommends/implements upgrades to system that support and maintaining security controls.
  • Keeps management informed by preparing performance reports, score cards, communicating system status.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, cyber intelligence, security tool training.
  • Assesses cyber threats, risks and impact. Works with Tech and Engineering Partners to determine security recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Member of the Incident Response Team – Incident Responder for Cyber and Information Security related events. Respond to security incidents during off hours as needed.
  • Works closely with Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) to ensure SOP, SLA’s and expectations are met.
  • Work with MSSP to triage events as needed. Create and update SOP’s for MSSP and Tech partners.
  • Review security tools configuration and recommend suggestions for continuous security improvements.
  • Participate in the Change Management Committee meetings to ensure security changes are presented to committee.
  • Work with Digital Communications team to ensure all Information Security and Cyber changes are communicated.
  • Works with tech partners in the areas of vulnerability and patch management.
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a minimum of 7 years of experience in IT, Cyber or Security Operations, Network Operations, Network Engineering or Network Security
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Adaptability- showing an impressive ability to drive the IT security strategy forward, in ever-changing circumstances
  • Analytical mind capable of managing numerous information sources and providing data analysis reports to senior management
  • People focused, with a passion and drive to work on an experienced team of intelligence analysts.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills to connect with customers, partners, and peers.
  • A proven record of dealing with complex projects to include but not limited to:
    • System administration- AD
    • Network security
    • End Point Protection
    • Information security policies
    • On-call Incident Response
    • Firewalls, routers, switches
    • Cloud Security Platforms – Azure & AWS
    • Mobile Device Management
    • SOC/NOC (SIEM)
    • IT Operations /IT Infrastructure

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
