Job description
Full-time, year-round position responsible for the general cleaning of buildings and facilities. Typical work schedule: Monday - Friday, 6 p.m. - 2:30 a.m.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors as directed.
- Dusts furniture and disposes of waste papers.
- Cleans lavatories and restocks lavatory supplies.
- Cleans windows.
- Operates the following equipment in a satisfactory manner: floor scrubbing machine, floor polishing machine, wet or dry floor vacuum machine, and wet or dry foam rug-cleaning machine.
- Moves furniture, equipment, and materials as directed.
- Assists with College special events (including load-in and load-out of shows, set-up, clean-up, traffic control in parking lots, etc.) as needed.
- Records personal work time and quantities of materials used on specific jobs as directed.
- Contributes to unit planning, assessment, and college institutional effectiveness efforts.
- Acts in accordance with College policies and procedure.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Educational: High school diploma (or equivalency) preferred.
Experiential: Janitorial/Maintenance experience preferred.
Other: Position involves moderately heavy manual work, including lifting and moving heavy equipment and supplies.
